A tonal room in beige, cream and stone

Soft Stone Sanctuary keeps almost everything in one warm family. Travertine Soft Stone is a travertine look porcelain for floors and walls, and it also comes in a 3D version, so the same colour can be flat on the floor and textured on a feature wall. Tufa Veincut adds the long bands of vein cut travertine. Linen Natural White is a slim 50 x 150 mm subway tile that lifts the palette. Three Alhambra Flower mosaics bring in pattern: Botticino marble, travertine beige and a sage green marble.

Why tonal works

When tiles share a colour, the room reads through texture instead of contrast. Flat porcelain, a 3D surface, stone mosaics and a handmade style subway all catch the light differently, so the space feels rich without being busy. It is an easy look to live with in bathrooms, ensuites and laundries. See more beige tiles and travertine tiles.

Where to put each tile

  • Floors: Travertine Soft Stone or Tufa Veincut. The look covers P3, P4 and P5 slip ratings, so there is a finish for a bathroom floor, a shower or an outdoor patio. Check each product page.
  • Feature wall: Travertine Soft Stone 3D behind a vanity or bath. See more 3D and textured tiles.
  • Shower walls and splashbacks: Linen subway, laid in a stack or brick pattern. See subway tiles.
  • Niches and accents: an Alhambra Flower mosaic. The full range is in the Alhambra collection and stone mosaic tiles.

Try the palette first

Beige can lean pink, yellow or grey depending on your light. The Soft Stone Sanctuary Tile Sample Box puts the tiles from this look together so you can check them at home. Find it in sample packs, and see real rooms on our projects page.

FAQs

Can I use the flat and 3D Travertine Soft Stone tiles together?

Yes, and that is the idea behind this look. The two share a colour, so a 3D wall and a flat floor read as one material with two textures. Use the 3D version on walls and keep the flat tile for floors.

Which Alhambra Flower mosaic should I choose?

Botticino marble is a soft cream, travertine beige blends into the porcelain, and sage green adds a gentle note of colour. All three share the same flower shape, so you can also combine them in one niche or splashback.

What is the difference between Tufa Veincut and Travertine Soft Stone?

Both are travertine look porcelain. Tufa Veincut shows the long, straight bands of vein cut stone, while Travertine Soft Stone is the base tile of the look, with a flat and a 3D version. Using both adds variation without changing the colour story.

Do the Soft Stone Sanctuary tiles need sealing?

The porcelain tiles do not. The Alhambra Flower mosaics are natural marble and travertine, so seal them after installation. Ask us which sealer suits the stone.

Is this look suited to a small bathroom?

Yes. A tonal palette makes a small room feel larger because the eye does not stop at sharp contrasts. Keep the large porcelain on the floor and one wall, and use the mosaic in a single niche rather than spreading it around.
