What makes a tile sage green

Sage is a muted green with grey in it, which is why it feels calm rather than bright. Our sage range includes soft grey-greens and pale mint, and leans away from the stronger olive and teal you will find in the wider green tiles collection. Many tiles come in several colours, and this page shows each tile's sage or mint variant.

Materials and looks

  • Mint marble: natural mint marble in tumbled 150 x 150 mm tiles, 100 x 100 mm squares and stack, penny round and herringbone mosaics.
  • Fluted and 3D: mini bamboo flute mosaics and 3D stack mosaics that add texture to a vanity wall. See fluted tiles.
  • Kit kat and finger tiles: porcelain kit kat tiles and vintage stack finger tiles for shower walls and niches.
  • Subway and square tiles: porcelain subway, Spanish handmade wall tiles, Spanish squares and Moroccan zellige. Browse subway tiles.
  • Marble mosaics: Amazonica green stack and mixed marble patterns in marble mosaic tiles.

Where sage tiles work

Sage suits bathrooms, ensuites, laundries and kitchen splashbacks, especially in homes with timber, linen and natural light. It is gentle enough for a whole shower and still reads as colour. Most sage tiles are wall tiles, and the natural marble should be sealed. Check slip ratings on each product before using one on a floor. A sage splashback with timber shelves, or a mint mosaic niche in a white shower, is a simple way to add colour.

Pairing sage green tiles

Grout: white or warm off-white grout keeps sage fresh and shows off kit kat and herringbone patterns. A soft grey grout blends into mosaics for a quieter look. See tile grout.

Tapware: brushed brass and gold is the classic partner for sage. Brushed nickel feels soft and calm. Sage also pairs well with timber vanities, terrazzo floors and blush pink tiles.

FAQs

What is the difference between sage green and mint tiles?

Sage has more grey in it and feels muted and earthy. Mint is a touch lighter and fresher, with a hint of blue. Both sit in this collection, so order samples to see which suits your light.

What floor tiles go with sage green walls?

Warm whites, terrazzo, light timber-look porcelain and soft beige stone all work well. Keep the floor quieter than the walls so the sage stays the feature.

Does sage green suit a small bathroom?

Yes. Because it is muted, sage can cover a whole shower or wall without making a small room feel closed in. A gloss finish reflects more light if the room is dark.

Which tapware finish goes best with sage green tiles?

Brushed brass and gold are the most popular choice and suit timber accents. Brushed nickel gives a softer look, and matte black adds contrast in a modern scheme.
