Applicators, scrub kits, replacement pads and a stone benchtop kit. The right applicator keeps a sealer wet for its full dwell time, which is where most DIY sealing goes wrong.

Tools that make the product work

A good sealer applied badly gives a patchy result. Most sealers need to stay wet on the surface for a set time to soak in evenly, and a rag or roller tends to leave some areas dry and others flooded. These Sealers Plus tools are made for the job. The applicators and pads are washable and reusable, and fit standard mop handles. Using the right tool also means less sealer wasted on the rag and more of it where it belongs: in the stone.

What is in the range

  • Sealer Applicator: spreads sealer in an even, wet coat across floors and walls.
  • Colour'N'Seal Applicator: for applying grout colourant along the joints.
  • Scrub'N'Clean Kit: for scrubbing tile, stone and grout with a cleaner, especially on textured floors.
  • Scrub'N'Clean Replacement Pads: fresh pads for the kit.
  • Stone Bench Top Kit: for caring for a stone benchtop or vanity top.

How to seal a floor

  • Clean the floor thoroughly and let it dry.
  • Pour a little sealer and spread it with the applicator in one direction.
  • Keep the surface wet for the time on the label, topping up any dry patches.
  • Wipe off the excess before it dries on the surface.
  • Wash the applicator straight after use.

Caring for stone benchtops and vanities

Marble and other natural stone on a benchtop sees oil, wine and acidic food every day. A regular pH neutral clean, and a fresh coat of sealer when water stops beading, keep it looking its best. The Stone Bench Top Kit is a simple starting point for that routine, so check the product page for what is included.

FAQs

Why not use a mop or roller to apply sealer?

A mop or roller can leave sealer thin in some spots and pooled in others. An applicator made for sealer spreads an even, wet coat, which helps it soak in evenly and avoids sticky residue on top.

Are the applicators reusable?

Yes, they are washable and reusable. Rinse them straight after use, before the sealer dries, and replace the pads when they wear.

What is dwell time?

Dwell time is how long a product needs to stay on the surface to work. For a sealer, it is the time it needs to soak in. The label gives the time for each product.

Do I need special tools for a stone benchtop?

Not special, but gentle ones. Use soft cloths and non-scratch pads, a pH neutral cleaner and a sealer suited to the stone. Avoid abrasive scourers, which can dull a honed or polished finish.
