Choosing an overhead shower rose

The shower rose, or shower head, is where the water falls from. A wide rose gives a soft, rain-like spray that covers more of your body. A smaller rose gives a more focused spray and suits a compact shower. This collection lists the rose on its own, so you can pair it with the arm and mixer you prefer.

Roses in this range

  • Meir Round shower rose: a slim round head in 200 mm or 300 mm.
  • Riviere rain shower: a 250 mm Caroma rain shower head, a middle size for most showers.
  • Contura II rain shower: a 300 mm Caroma rain head for a large, generous spray.
  • ADP Eternal shower rose: a round rose from ADP's Eternal range, to match Eternal taps and accessories.

What size rose do you need?

Match the rose to the size of the shower. A 200 mm rose suits a standard recess and a smaller water flow. A 250 mm or 300 mm rose suits a larger or walk-in shower, where there is room for a wider spray without splashing the screen. Think about height too: a big rose works best set high and centred, so the water falls straight down. A wide rose also spreads the same water over a larger area, so the spray feels softer than a small head.

Arms, rails and finishes

A rose needs something to hold it. Pair it with a wall or high-rise shower arm, or choose a complete shower set that combines a rose with a rail and hand shower. Add a hand shower for rinsing and cleaning. Most roses here come in chrome, gold, nickel and black, and several in bronze. Keep the rose in the same finish as your shower mixer, or compare the gunmetal options. Our tapware is WELS rated and WaterMark certified, so check each rose's WELS rating to compare water use.

FAQs

Is a 300 mm rain shower too big for my bathroom?

Not if the shower is large enough. A 300 mm rose suits a walk-in or roomy shower. In a small recess, a 200 mm or 250 mm rose gives good coverage with less splash on the screen and door.

Do shower roses come with an arm?

The roses in this collection are the head only. Choose a shower arm separately, or pick a shower set if you want the rose, rail and hand shower together.

What is the difference between a shower rose and a rain shower?

They are the same part. Rain shower usually describes a wider, flatter rose that gives a gentle, falling spray rather than a strong jet.

Can I fit a new shower rose to my existing arm?

Usually, as most roses use a standard thread. Check the connection on the product page and on your current arm before you buy, and make sure the arm is long enough to centre a larger rose.
