Lever door handles in three profiles

Every handle in this collection is a Zephra lever in solid stainless steel with a PVD finish. Choose the profile first, then the colour.

  • Linear: fine linear fluting along the lever for a tailored, architectural look.
  • Knurled: a diamond-knurled grip that adds texture and a crafted feel in the hand.
  • Luma: a smooth, cylindrical lever that keeps the door quiet and minimal.

All three come in Aged Bronze, Brushed Gold, Brushed Nickel, Gunmetal and Matte Black. Handles are sold as a pair, one for each side of the door.

Passage, privacy or entry?

The handle is only part of the door. What sits behind it depends on the room.

  • Passage doors (hallways, living rooms, wardrobes) only need the handles and a latch.
  • Privacy doors (bathrooms, toilets, bedrooms) also need a privacy turnsnib on the inside.
  • Keyed doors need a lock that works with a key.

Find turnsnibs and mortice locks in locks, or skip the guesswork with a hardware package that groups the handle, lock, hinges and stop in one finish.

Choosing a finish for the whole house

Door handles are touched every day, so the finish should look good up close and wear well. PVD bonds the colour to the steel as a hard layer, which resists scratches and fading better than painted hardware.

Pick one finish and use it on every door, then carry it through to door hinges and door stops. Many people match the door hardware to the tapware, for example brushed nickel with nickel tapware or gunmetal with gunmetal tapware, so the house feels finished from the front door to the shower.

Matching cabinet hardware

The Linear and Knurled profiles also come as cabinet handles and knobs, so kitchen and wardrobe joinery can match the doors. Browse the whole range in Zephra hardware.

FAQs

Are the door handles sold individually or as a pair?

They are sold as a pair, with one lever for each side of the door. Locks, hinges and door stops are sold separately or as part of a hardware package.

What is the difference between a passage and a privacy door handle?

The levers look the same. A passage set simply latches the door, while a privacy set adds a turnsnib on the inside so the door can be locked from within, which suits bathrooms and bedrooms.

Which door handle profile is best for a modern home?

Luma is the most minimal, with a smooth cylindrical lever. Linear adds a fine fluted line, and Knurled brings more texture. All three suit modern interiors, so choose the level of detail you like.

Will matte black door handles show fingerprints?

Matte finishes can show marks from hands over time. A quick wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap keeps them clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can dull any finish.
