What is a hand shower?

A hand shower is a handheld shower head on a flexible hose. It makes rinsing hair, cleaning the shower and washing children or pets much easier. It can be your main shower or sit beside an overhead shower rose. In this collection you will find complete hand showers and handsets on their own.

Styles in the range

  • Caroma Liano II: a 3 function microphone hand shower and a handset only version.
  • Caroma Riviere: a hand shower, a handset and a microphone handset.
  • Caroma Urbane II: a hand shower and a handset only version.
  • Caroma Contura II: a hand shower and a handset.
  • Meir Round: a hand shower on a fixed bracket and a shower on a swivel bracket.

A microphone handset is a slim, cylinder-shaped head, like a handheld microphone. It is compact and easy to hold. A 3 function handset lets you switch between spray patterns.

Bracket, rail or set?

A hand shower on a fixed bracket holds the head at one angle on the wall. A swivel bracket lets you tilt the head to aim the spray. If you want to adjust the height, a rail shower or a full shower set with a sliding holder is the better choice. Your hand shower also needs a shower mixer or wall mixer to control the water, set in the wall before tiling.

Hand showers for the bath

A hand shower is handy over a bath for rinsing and cleaning. Some Caroma freestanding bath fillers come with a hand shower built in. For a built-in bath, a wall outlet and hand shower is a neat alternative.

Finishes

Every hand shower here comes in chrome, nickel and gold, and most come in bronze and black. Match it to your mixer and rose, and browse all showers or the Caroma and Meir collections for the rest of the set.

FAQs

What does handset only mean?

A handset only listing is the handheld head without the hose, bracket or rail. It is useful for replacing a worn handset or upgrading your existing shower. Check that the connection suits your hose before you order.

What is a microphone hand shower?

It is a slim, cylinder-shaped handheld shower, named because it looks like a microphone. The compact shape is easy to hold and clean, and it suits minimal bathrooms. Caroma offers microphone handsets in its Liano II and Riviere ranges.

Should I choose a fixed or swivel bracket?

A fixed bracket holds the hand shower at one angle and gives a cleaner look. A swivel bracket lets you tilt the head to aim the water, which suits households of different heights. For full height adjustment, choose a rail shower.

Can I add a hand shower to an existing shower?

Often, yes. If you already have a wall outlet or rail, a new handset or hand shower may simply connect to it. Where a new outlet is needed, your plumber will have to work inside the wall.
