Seats made for each pan

A toilet seat is shaped to suit a particular pan. The outline, length and hinge position all need to line up, or the seat will overhang, rock or leave gaps at the edge. That is why our seats are sold by range:

Contura II Soft Close Toilet Seat: for Contura II pans, with the range's soft, rounded profile.
Urbane II Soft Close Toilet Seat: for Urbane II pans, with crisper, squarer lines.
Riviere Soft Close Toilet Seat: for Riviere pans.

Finishes include White, Matte White and Matte Clay, depending on the range. Match the seat to your pan, as a gloss seat on a matte pan, or the reverse, is easy to spot.

How to identify your toilet

If you are not sure which range you have, check your original paperwork or the product label on the cistern. You can also compare the pan's shape with the photos on each toilet suite page. Still unsure? Send us a photo of the pan from above and from the side, and we will help you match it.

Why soft close

Soft close hinges lower the seat and lid slowly, so there is no slamming and no pinched fingers. It is quieter at night, easier for children, and kinder to the pan over time. A new seat is also one of the simplest ways to freshen up a bathroom without a renovation.

Upgrade more than the seat

If the seat is not the only thing showing its age, compare a full replacement in toilets. Own an Urbane II pan? The electronic bidet seat in bidets adds built-in washing, subject to compatibility. For in-wall cisterns, a new flush button in a fresh finish completes the change.

FAQs

How do I know which toilet seat fits my toilet?

Find your toilet's brand and range first, from your paperwork, the cistern label or the pan's shape. Each seat here is made for one Caroma range, so choose the seat with the same range name as your pan.

Can I put a soft close seat on any toilet?

Only if the seat is made for that pan. A seat from a different range may not line up with the hinge holes or the rim, and the soft close action may not work properly.

Should my seat match the colour of my pan?

Yes. White, Matte White and Matte Clay look quite different side by side, so pick the same finish as your pan for a seamless result.

Do I need a plumber to change a toilet seat?

No. A seat is not connected to the water supply, so most people fit it themselves with basic hand tools by fixing it through the hinge holes on the pan.
