Start with the room

This is our widest indoor collection, so the quickest way in is by room. Each room collection shows only the tiles suited to it:

You can also use the Room filter on this page.

Porcelain, ceramic or natural stone?

Porcelain is the workhorse of indoor tiling. It is dense, absorbs very little water, needs no sealing and suits floors and walls. Most of this collection is porcelain, from the Builders Range to Italian and Spanish ranges. See porcelain tiles.

Ceramic is lighter and easier to cut, which makes it ideal for walls. Brighton White Ceramic 300 x 600 mm and Clovelly 2.0 White Subway 75 x 300 mm are classic examples. See ceramic tiles.

Natural stone such as marble, limestone and travertine brings unique veining and warmth. The Alhambra Flower mosaics in Botticino, Viola and Portuguese Limestone are a good example. Stone needs sealing. See natural stone.

Floor or wall?

Many tiles here are rated for both floors and walls, so one tile can run through a whole room. Others, such as thin gloss ceramics and many handmade and zellige tiles, are made for walls only. Check the Room details on each product page before you order.

Finishes indoors

Matt is the most common finish in this collection and suits almost any room. Gloss brightens walls and splashbacks. Honed, lappato and polished finishes add a soft or high sheen to living floors. 3D and textured tiles, such as Travertine Soft Stone 3D, add depth to feature walls.

Indoor tiles that go outside

Some ranges here also come in external or grip finishes, so you can carry an indoor floor out to a covered alfresco. For tiles made for outdoor use, see outdoor tiles.

FAQs

Is porcelain or ceramic better for indoor floors?

Porcelain. It is denser, harder-wearing and absorbs less water, so it handles foot traffic and wet areas. Ceramic is best kept for walls, where its lighter weight and easy cutting are an advantage.

How do I narrow down such a big range?

Start with the Room filter, then choose a colour and a size. Adding the Finish and Slip rating filters will quickly cut the list to a handful of tiles that suit your space.

Which indoor tiles need sealing?

Natural stone such as marble, limestone and travertine should be sealed, as should unglazed terracotta and some handmade tiles. Glazed porcelain and ceramic do not need sealing.

Can I use one tile throughout the whole house?

Yes, with a floor-rated porcelain that has a P3 slip rating or better. A single tile across the living, kitchen and laundry floors keeps the home calm and consistent. Step up to a higher rating in showers if needed.

What is the difference between indoor and outdoor tiles?

Outdoor tiles have a higher slip rating, usually P4 or P5, and a textured grip or external finish that copes with rain. Indoor tiles are often smoother and easier to clean, and wall tiles may have no slip rating at all.
