Stone character, porcelain performance

Stone look tiles capture the texture and tonal shifts of natural stone without copying one named quarry. They are porcelain, so they need no sealing, resist stains and keep their colour in full sun. If you are after a specific stone, see limestone or travertine; for the real thing, see natural stone.

Complete systems for outdoor areas

What sets this collection apart is the matching outdoor pieces. Several ranges come as a full system:

  • Andes: floor and wall tiles, an Outdoor 20 mm Paver, Paver Coping at 400 x 600 x 20 mm and a Warm White Matt Megaslab at 1200 x 2700 mm.
  • Kavala: floor and wall tile, a 600 x 600 mm paver and a 400 x 600 mm bullnose.
  • Tufa X-Cut: a megaslab plus a 400 x 600 mm bullnose.
  • Cosmic and Tundra Extra: bullnose tiles for pool coping and step edges.

That means you can tile a living room, step out onto a patio and finish the pool edge in one colour. See pavers and pool tiles for more.

Indoor ranges

For bathrooms, kitchens and living floors, look at Bolgheri and Saint Macoux in Italian porcelain, Cortina with a 3D vein decor, Nyra, Cocoon in 600 x 1200 mm, Juno, Jasper Stone with its matching kit kat mosaic, Ballina, Opera White and Ivory Stone Look. Coral and Durango are Spanish ranges, and Porcelanosa Hannover adds a stone-effect ceramic wall tile at 596 x 1500 mm.

Choosing a slip rating

Indoor floors are mostly P3. Meta Stone is rated P4 for indoor and outdoor use, and several outdoor finishes reach P5 for pool surrounds and ramps. Filter by Slip rating, or browse anti-slip tiles and outdoor tiles. Matt finishes suit most indoor floors, and External and Grip finishes suit wet outdoor areas. More designer options are in Italian tiles and Spanish tiles.

FAQs

What is the difference between stone look tiles and natural stone?

Stone look tiles are porcelain printed and textured to look like stone. They need no sealing and are more consistent from box to box. Natural stone is quarried, so every piece is unique, but it must be sealed and cared for.

What is a bullnose coping tile?

A bullnose tile has a rounded front edge. It is used on the edge of a pool, step or raised garden bed to give a smooth, finished line. Our stone look bullnose tiles match their floor tiles, so the edge blends in.

What are 20 mm porcelain pavers used for?

20 mm pavers are thicker and stronger than standard tiles, made for outdoor areas. Depending on the site, they can be laid on sand, gravel or pedestals, or fixed with adhesive over a slab. Ask your installer which method suits your project.

Will a stone look tile show a repeating pattern?

Good stone look ranges print many different faces, so the pattern is hard to spot. Ask your tiler to draw from a few boxes at once and keep identical faces apart.
