Why choose Italian tiles?

Italy is one of the world's leading tile makers, known for advanced porcelain production and strong design. Italian porcelain is dense and hard-wearing, with detailed surfaces that capture stone, terrazzo and clay with real depth. Everything in this collection is Italian, from large-format porcelain to marble mosaics.

Large-format porcelain

  • Atlas Concorde Marvel: marble and travertine looks, including Marvel Diva Taj Mahal at 600 x 1200 mm and Marvel Travertine in vein cut.
  • Boost, Boost Icor and Boost Expression: floor and wall porcelain for calm, modern interiors.
  • Nyra, Ceppo, Balance, Gleeze and Fornace 2.0: more porcelain series in a range of looks and sizes.

Sizes run from 300 x 600 mm and 600 x 600 mm up to 600 x 1200 mm, 900 x 900 mm and 1200 x 1200 mm. Most of the porcelain is rated P3 for indoor floors, and several ranges have P4 or P5 grip and external finishes for outdoor areas. See large format tiles.

Terrazzo, terracotta and pattern

  • Venice Villa: terrazzo in Silver, Blue, Coral, Green, Yellow, Earth and Zinc. See terrazzo tiles.
  • Slow: a terracotta look porcelain in 600 x 600 mm with a clay effect. See terracotta tiles.
  • D Segni: plain and patterned floor and wall tiles.

Wall tiles and subways

  • Lume 2.0: an Italian subway in 60 x 240 mm.
  • Nolita and Color series: slim 48 x 450 mm subway sticks.
  • Amuri: 200 x 200 mm and 53 x 300 mm formats.
  • Rice and Zellige Italian Wall Tile: glazed wall tiles with a handmade feel, Rice in gloss.

Italian marble mosaics

Natural stone mosaics include the Art Deco series, Arch Viola Honed, Botticino Square Tumbled, Split Calacatta and Split Viola, Square Carrara and the Alhambra Flower in Botticino and Viola. Like all marble, they need sealing. Browse more in marble mosaic tiles, or compare with our Spanish tiles.

FAQs

Are Italian tiles better quality?

Italian porcelain is known for consistent sizing, low water absorption and detailed surfaces, which is why many designers specify it. Quality still varies between makers, so compare the details on each product page, such as size, finish and slip rating.

Do Italian porcelain tiles need sealing?

No. Porcelain absorbs very little water and needs no sealing. The Italian marble mosaics in this collection are natural stone, so those do need sealing.

Can I use Italian tiles outdoors?

Yes, if you choose a tile with an outdoor rating. Several of our Italian porcelain ranges have grip or external finishes rated P4 or P5, which suit patios, balconies and pool areas.

What sizes do Italian tiles come in?

Our Italian range runs from small mosaics and 48 x 450 mm subway sticks to 600 x 600 mm, 600 x 1200 mm, 900 x 900 mm and 1200 x 1200 mm porcelain. The large sizes suit open-plan floors with fewer grout lines.
