Shades of beige

Beige covers a wide band of warm neutrals. At the light end you will find soft sand and limestone tones that sit close to cream. In the middle are classic travertine beiges with gentle movement. At the deeper end are clay and taupe shades that lean towards brown and terracotta. Many ranges here come in several colours, and this page shows each tile's beige variant, so you are comparing like with like.

Materials and looks in beige

Most beige tiles in this range are porcelain, which needs no sealing and suits floors, walls and showers. Popular looks include:

  • Travertine: vein cut and cross cut travertine look porcelain, plus real tumbled travertine and travertine mosaics. See travertine tiles.
  • Stone and limestone: calm, low-contrast surfaces in limestone and stone look tiles, many in large formats of 600 x 1200 mm and up.
  • Texture and character: clay-toned kit kat mosaics, Kazoku hand-glazed Japanese mosaics, Spanish wall tiles and Italian porcelain, as the tags on each range show.

Where beige tiles work

Beige is forgiving. It hides dust and water marks better than white or black, which makes it a practical choice for bathroom floors, laundries and busy kitchens. It also carries well from inside to out: several ranges have matching 20 mm pavers, coping and grip finishes rated P4 or P5 for patios and pool surrounds. What to pair with beige

Grout: a sand or warm beige grout keeps the surface calm and hides grout lines. A light warm grey works if you want a little more definition. Avoid bright white on floors, as it shows dirt quickly. Find colours in tile grout.

Tapware: beige and travertine tones suit warm metals. Brushed brass and gold tapware and bronze feel natural against them, while matte black adds crisp contrast. For a softer, lighter scheme, compare our cream tiles.

FAQs

Is beige a good colour for a bathroom floor?

Yes. Beige hides water spots, soap marks and dust better than very light or very dark tiles. Choose a matt or grip finish with a P3 rating or higher for the floor, and P4 or P5 inside the shower.

What is the difference between beige and cream tiles?

Cream is lighter and closer to white, with a soft yellow warmth. Beige is a little deeper and more sandy or stone-like. Many ranges come in both, so order samples of each to compare in your own light.

Can I use the same beige tile indoors and outdoors?

Often, yes. Several beige porcelain ranges come in an indoor matt finish and a matching external or grip finish, plus 20 mm pavers. This lets the floor run from the living area onto the patio in one tone.

What grout colour goes with beige tiles?

A tonal sand or beige grout gives the most seamless look. Warm light grey adds a little definition without looking harsh. Bright white grout tends to discolour on floors.
