The Earlwood Project: A Modern Mid-Century Home Defined by Architecture, Light, and Materialit

Set within Earlwood, this four-level residence is a contemporary interpretation of a modern mid-century lifestyle home, designed to prioritise light, flow, and material harmony. Built with Erol, the home unfolds gradually across its levels, using strong architectural lines and carefully selected finishes to create a space that feels both considered and effortless.

Natural light and cross-ventilation are central to the design, with openings positioned to draw sunlight deep into the interior while maintaining privacy and calm. Despite its scale, the home feels connected and intuitive, reflecting mid-century design principles reimagined for modern family living.

Architecture Designed to Breathe

The home unfolds gradually across its four levels, with carefully positioned openings allowing natural light and cross-ventilation to move freely throughout the space. Despite its scale, the layout feels intuitive and connected, reflecting mid-century inspired architecture adapted for modern living.

Clean lines, layered volumes, and a restrained palette ensure the architecture never overpowers the experience of the home.

A Timeless Foundation: Large Format Terrazzo Floor Tiles

Throughout the main living areas, an exclusive large format terrazzo floor tile (1200×1200mm) was custom-specified and imported to create a seamless foundation. A material closely associated with mid-century architecture, terrazzo brings durability, subtle movement, and longevity to modern interiors. These neutral terrazzo tiles visually connect the open-plan spaces while allowing light, shadow, and architectural detail to remain the focus.

Bathrooms as Calm, Spa-Like Retreats

The bathrooms are designed as calm, spa-like retreats, featuring Zellige Lana Gloss, an Italian-made zellige look gloss tile that brings warmth, texture, and reflected light into the space. Popular for bathroom wall tiles and shower feature walls, the softly irregular, high-gloss finish delivers the handcrafted look of traditional zellige with the precision and durability of Italian porcelain.

In the Master Ensuite – The Linen natural white 50x150mm tiles makes the bathrooms feel balanced and timeless. These neutral bathroom floor and wall tiles ground the design, creating a relaxed, architectural aesthetic that suits modern and mid-century inspired homes.

Resort-Style Outdoor Areas with Limestone and Green Pool Mosaic Tiles

The outdoor areas are finished with Crema Sienna limestone tiles 406x610mm, chosen for their warm tones and natural texture. Ideal for outdoor paving and pool surrounds, these limestone tiles create a seamless connection between the home and landscape. Inside the pool, Leyla Mosaic Tahiti adds depth through refined green pool mosaic tiles, reflecting light at the waterline for a subtle, resort-style finish.
