Installation. Flooring must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. Subfloor preparation, moisture levels, underlay requirements and expansion allowances should be assessed before installation. Engineered timber is for interior use only. Glue-down installations should also follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions, and herringbone requires careful planning and professional installation so the pattern aligns throughout the space. Keep indoor humidity between 40–60% year-round.
Wastage. Allow an extra 5–10% for straight-laid planks and 10–15% for herringbone to cover cuts and board selection. Rooms with more cuts mean more wastage — always confirm final quantities with your installer.
